In Zen philosophy, the enso is the visual representation of harmony—harmony in strength, elegance, and the Universe, and all that connects them.

Jiu-jitsu begins and ends with the opportunity for connection. In the most literal sense, Jiu-jitsu is a practice predicated on the presence of physical connection. In that, without connection to your opponent, there fail to be techniques. However, in Jiu-jitsu, the term "connection" spans past the physical definition and represents the eternal bonds created with those who support you in your journey. The connectedness of the Jiu-jitsu community transforms the sport from a practice of isolated effort into a collective commitment, creating harmony amongst practitioners. Our simple black shirt featuring an enso with the RPMA Phoenix in the center is a visual reminder of the importance of connection within our Jiu-jitsu community.
