Expectations and Guidelines
Attendance:
As a member of RPMA, you are encouraged to attend as many classes as you like! There are no additional fees for participating in the other classes. We fully encourage you to take advantage of all of our programs!
What you get out of your training is what you put into it. Be accountable and responsible. Please let us know if you plan on being away and cannot attend class for an extended period.
Uniforms:
Certain programs require specific uniforms. For Judo, a blue or white gi is recommended. Kids BJJ does not need a gi. Comfortable clothes and rashguards are recommended. For Adult BJJ, spats or shorts and rashguards are required. No T-shirts, please. If you are unsure of what to get, we can help!
EtiquetteMartial arts often means you are in close contact with others. Therefore, it is essential to keep yourself healthy and clean. If you suspect you might be sick, stay home. Ensure you have recently showered, that your hands are washed, and that your fingernails and toenails are trimmed. Medium to long hair needs to be tied back. Your training clothes must be cleaned after every training session. Bring a pair of flip-flops to wear when walking in the common areas or going into the bathroom. Bare feet are only allowed on the mats. This helps keep the dojo clean and decreases the risk of spreading germs.
Behavior:
Martial arts are demanding, both physically and mentally. Come to class ready to work hard, no matter what happens outside the dojo. Please be respectful of others and our dojo. If a problem arises, we can terminate your membership as we see fit.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know!
